COVID-19 Healing

1/14/22 COVID-19 (Chad)

Here is an incredible testimony of God's goodness and healing power. I start this story by reading the texts that were sent earlier that day…

Me: Hey man, heard you aren’t feeling well. Can I come and pray for you today?

Chad: I’d appreciate prayers, but I really don’t want you to get this. I feel good this morning, just carrying a cough around with me.

Me: Bible tells us to walk by faith, I won’t get it. I’m coming over.

When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” IMMEDIATELY his leprosy was cleansed. - Matthew 8:1-3

This story was running through my mind as I drove through the rural Ohio farm fields going to pray for my friend Chad. It was a cold, but clear January afternoon and I was on my way to pray for healing. Like usual, I was excited and a little nervous to see what God was going to do.

Up until now, I usually had to pray multiple times (like 4ish) in order to see any results. Why do I have to pray 4 times God? Can’t you move on the first word? If it takes 4 then I will do it, but just know Lord that I want to see it immediately just like the leper did. Just like You intended!

I pulled into Chads driveway, knowing that Chad has been fighting a COVID fever for days. I believe this was his ninth day of a fever, cough, aches, and absolutely no energy. His wife told me that he would be in bed nearly 20-22 hours a day just trying to regain his strength.

When I rang the doorbell, Chad came to let me in. You could tell by his face that he was beat. His wife, who is a medical professional, was also home and both she and Chad looked a little nervous that I was there. They didn’t want me to catch this virus and spread it to my family. I calmly reminded them that Jesus TOUCHED the leper; I will be fine.

We went in and sat down at the dining room table. I went through the Bible and showed them verse after verse that proves that God wants us well and died for our healing. By His stripes, we are healed! Healing was His idea, not mine. After some discussion, we started to pray. It wasn’t some magical prayer… it was a genuine, from the heart prayer. Amen!

I opened my eyes to see Chad weeping. He kept saying that it is gone! His wife looked at him in disbelief. She kept asking, “you’re not lying? Really? You really feel better?” Chad looked at her and said, I am healed! Chad and his wife embraced, and everyone felt like a weight was lifted. Praise Jesus!

Later that evening I got another text from Chad…

Chad: Hey! I just wanted to say thanks again for coming over today. That’s honestly the first time I think I’ve ever been healed like that. It felt great. I feel great. After you left I was just processing things for a while. At some point this afternoon I went on Facebook and saw a friend of ours asking for prayer for her husband who has apparently fallen ill to something. I started to pray for both of them. Strangely the more I poured out to God to heal him, the better I felt as well. We truly are made to worship. What an incredible reminder. Thanks again for today, I walked around the yard multiple times today. It felt great. My neighbors probably think I’m a nut. Of course I’m sure they already kinda thought that. I’m sure they wonder what I’m singing while mowing with a hand raised to the sky. That conversation will come in time.

Me: So good! Praise Jesus!!!
