Peace in God's Purpose

I was recently listening to a speaker talk about how to find and fulfill God’s purpose for your life. As I was listening, I was gaining more and more confidence in my current place in my life. I was gaining more confidence that I am fulfilling God’s will. As a stay-at-home mom of three, soon to be four, children, I often feel purposeless, drained, and unnoticed. But what I have come to realize is, am I seeking purpose, motivation, and attention from the world or from God?

When I am feeling down in those ways, it is usually because I am let down by the world and what I expect from the world. But the world’s opinion and plan cannot be a reflection of what God’s opinion and plan is for me.

If you’ve ever felt this way, you too have been let down by the world. You too have focused too much on the world’s opinion of you. You too need to remind yourself of what God says about you.

You have purpose through Christ. (Jeremiah 29:11)

You are noticed by God. (Psalm 33:18)

You have supernatural motivation to fulfill God’s will. (John 5:30)

You are wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14)

You are cherished by God as His chosen one. (1 Peter 2:9)

You have the ability to show the fruits of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:13-25)

You have the power that raised Jesus from the dead on the inside of you. (Romans 8:11)

You were created with a mission for your life. (Ephesians 2:10)

Remind yourselves of what God says about you! Ignore the world’s opinion of you; it will only let you down. When you remind yourself of these truths, it will give you supernatural confidence in where God placed you in life! And if not, then you will feel supernatural unrest in where you are, which is a sign that God has more planned for you; a sign that you need to follow the guidance of the Lord in which direction to go down next. Either way, God should be leading you, not the world. God should be the One allowed to speak into your heart, not the world.

Whether you are a leader over a huge group of people, one small position in a bigger corporation, too young to have a career yet, retired, or jobless and raising littles like me, God has a purpose for you! Seek Him and His desire for your life and don’t be swayed by what the world says about it.

I have such peace about where I am in my life. God chose me to be these kids’ momma. He knew no one else in the world could raise these little ones better than me. Even in the midst of folding laundry, wiping pee off the floor, and dealing with yet another tantrum, God is working. God is using me to mold these kids into future disciples for Jesus. I can’t do anything else but rejoice that this is God’s plan for me!

Have courage, friends! God’s plan for you is worth rejoicing over!

Holy bible detail

Do you know if you are going to Heaven when you die?

The Bible says in Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, then you will be saved!  It really is that simple. Putting your trust and faith in Jesus will allow you to experience peace on what will happen once you are gone.
